Hello everyone! I am Sally, a seventh grade AdVENTURE student. This has been my THIRD year attending this school, and all I can say is wow. It really seems as if yesterday was my first day at AdVENTURE as a fifth grade student. The experience and opportunity to be able to attend this school is amazing, and has changed me in many different ways, mentally and physically. I will have to say, during my first year, I was a little bit skeptical of how adVENTURE could change the way I pictured the world of school, and the world in general. Me, being a stubborn person, thought that, "Oh, AdVENTURE is just like the other schools, except they use more technology and do more projects." Well, after being at AdVENTURE for some time, I soon came to realization that this school was much more unique and different than other schools, in the best way possible. Being at this program has taught me, and continues to teach me new lessons everyday, and it really does mean a lot to be an AdVENTURE student. I will go more in depth on that below. In case you are interested, click here for my blog.

First, being an AdVENTURE student means that you have wide access to technology. I know that many schools these days have started to use more technology, but as an AdVENTURE student, you are able to use technology in every single class. For me, when I first came to AdVENTURE, the large use of technology was something huge because I had never really used technology back at my old school. The use of technology at AdVENTURE is a privilege, and this teaches you to become more responsible of classroom materials. Also, having a wide access to technology gives you the opportunity to become more technologically advanced, helping you with certain jobs in the future.

Second, being an AdVENTURE student means that you do assignments differently from other schools. Of course, you're probably already thinking that these assignments are going to be terrible, and you will hate them. I can't really say that you will love them and they will be the best thing ever because everyone has a different opinion, but I am going to tell you a personal experience that I have with one of these assignments. I LOVE writing, it's something that I find entertaining. However, I didn't always like writing. Back in 2011, I wrote a few short stories, and that was probably when I had my first interests in writing.

But, as the years passed, I got intersted in other things. When I came to AdVENTURE, as a weekly assignment, we had to write blogs on what we did in class each week. Yes, I really did not like doing these blogs because I thought they were boring. I think differently about them now because when I think about it, the blogs have helped me realize how much I love writing. On Friday, March 4, 2016, at 7:56 pm, I wrote my 100th blog post, which you can read here. That 100th blog post was a very big accomplishment because I'd never thought that I would reach it. Anyway, weekly blogs are just one example of the types of assignments that you do at AdVENTURE, and as you can already tell, they are meant to help you develop the skills you need for later on in life.

Finally, being an AdVENTURE student means that you are able to make many friends that you will hopefully stay with for all the four years that you can be at AdVENTURE. I would say that I made so many friends at this school, and the first reason would have to be the fact that you collaborate and work with your classmates a lot, especially during projects. Second would be that since you can attend AdVENTURE for up to four years, you become very close with the people in your class. I mean, next year will be my last year of attending AdVENTURE, and the thought of it is very weird. I have gotten close to many of the people in my class, and I don't really see any of us leaving off to high school.

In conclusion, being an AdVENTURE student means a lot! I could definitely write more, but then this post would be very long and I'm pretty sure you don't want to read it all. I would say that it's hard to really describe fully of how being an AdVENTURE student has changed me because so much has happened in these past three years that I kind of lose track. Needless to say, AdVENTURE is filled with cool ideas and people. The learning style may be different, but what you get of it will benefit you for the rest of your life. On that note, this is Sally, signing off for now!
