For my elective class, I did Globaloria, which consisted of designing and making educational video games. For the first half of the school year, I made my own hidden object and action game on the topic of monarch butterflies. In the second half of the year, I worked on a team game with two other classmates, Jenny and Jenna. We decided to make a game on the subject of Monarch Butterflies. Jenny was the main programmer of the game, Jenna was the artist, and I was the writer and reviewer of the game. The team game consisted of three levels.

Each level was about a part of a monarch butterfly's life. The first level was a drag and drop game, where the player is supposed to drag the correct the food for the caterpillar. The second level was where the player used the arrow keys in order to move the butterfly, so they can fly. The third level consisted of the buttefly being moved around by the arrow keys so they could find the correct plants in order to lay their eggs on. Along the way, there were some animations which showed some other major points in a monarch butterfly's life.

I learned a lot when making my individual and team games, such as how to code scenes using Adobe Flash, drawing and tracing backgrounds, and putting game scenes together. This has been my third year of doing Globaloria, and I feel like every year, I learn something new. The individual and team games show my accomplishments because I have made many games in past years, and I can say that this year, I was looking at some of my best work with drawing scenes and coding in all the games that I have made this year.
